Serving the Community Since 1979

Keeping it local is important to you. And it’s important to us, too.
Bill Steifle started at a young age with much ambition and drive to succeed. While working at Long’s Refrigeration, Bill began his appreciation and love of appliance repair. Through this introduction Bill and Ray Steifle opened their business in July of 1979 and with little inventory and much faith for success, Steifle’s Appliance was born. After nine years, the opportunity for growth into a bigger store came through the closing of the local Western Auto store, which allowed Bill and Ray to purchase on Montague Avenue. With the addition of Coleman, their oldest son, and Sarah, their oldest daughter, many positive changes have taken place, bridging the gap of young and old. Three years ago their youngest daughter, Kellar, joined the Steifle’s team to add some additional skills allowing Ray to be more of a full-time Gigi to her grandchildren rather than a behind the scenes bookkeeper. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our loyal and hardworking team.
Several of the ladies have since retired but we have a few that have been with us for a long time. Colie, our most loyal service tech, has been with us almost from the beginning. Then comes Kristi Kidd, a knowledgeable go-getter who will figure out the answer for you if she doesn’t know. David, our second service tech, joined us about five years ago to keep us on top of all things service. To help with keeping things young, we have Kristie Koeppen who had worked prior to her graduation from Lander and since graduation as well. In the back we have Donnie, Mon, Jerry and a few part-timers that are instrumental in making everything function smoothly until the product arrives at your home.
We at Steifle’s could not have been able to celebrate reaching our 40th Anniversary without YOU! It’s as simple as that. We are the Lakeland’s ONLY full-service appliance dealer, specializing in selling and servicing most major appliance brands. We not only are competitive, despite the struggle for small business these days, but we also offer service, which separates us from everyone else in our area. Our customer service and knowledge of the product is unmatched by many and we are hopeful we are here for at least the next forty years. The story of Bill Steifle’s success is truly one of humble beginnings. Growing up a son of a Greenwood Mill worker and a stay at home mom, we are truly thankful that hard work and a family-centered focus has allowed us to be where we are today.
